Hunton Andrews Kurth LLP is pleased to welcome attorney Nathaniel Rowe, as the firm continues to expand its energy and infrastructure practice and presence in Tokyo.

Rowe, who joins the firm as a senior attorney, represents leading Japanese sponsors, financial institutions, developers and government entities on large-scale, first-to-market, global project development and finance transactions across the energy and infrastructure industry. He also advises Japanese and multinational corporations, investment banks and private equity firms on a broad range of mergers and acquisitions, strategic investments, structured financings and venture capital transactions across multiple sectors.

Rowe is distinguished in the market for his strong Japan credentials forged over 20 years. He is a former Japanese Ministry of Education scholar and has worked for private companies and public institutions in Japan, including the Energy and Natural Resources Finance Group at a Japanese bank. He has experience across many industries, including technology, software, healthcare, telecommunications, manufacturing, financial services, consumer and retail, as well as energy, power and infrastructure.

“Nat brings a wealth of experience as a trusted and versatile advisor who is respected for his ability to help Japanese and international clients navigate complex legal issues on their energy and infrastructure projects and cross-border deals,” said George Borovas, managing partner of Hunton’s Tokyo office. “With his impressive Japan credentials and Asia-based experience he is an ideal addition to our energy and infrastructure practice and aligns well with our Asia growth strategy.”

Rowe’s arrival is the most recent addition to Hunton’s growing Tokyo office where he joins a team of dedicated lawyers serving Japanese and international clients. Last October, internationally recognized energy and infrastructure partner Kristian Bradshaw joined the firm from White & Case LLP. Hunton’s Tokyo team advises on a range of legal matters including project development and finance, mergers and acquisitions, and private equity and venture capital transactions across multiple industries.

Hunton’s global energy and infrastructure lawyers assist clients in bringing some of the world’s largest and most complex projects to market. The team provides concept- to-close advice on the development and financing of capital-intensive projects. It represents sponsors, lenders, investors, governments and other project participants operating in virtually every segment of the energy industry and infrastructure industry. Hunton’s projects attorneys have handled transactions in more than 75 countries, with market leading strengths in project finance, agency finance, commercial nuclear power, US energy tax credits, subsea fiber-optic networks and utility capital markets, among many others.
