Daily Business Review’s Florida Legal Awards Honor Hunton Attorneys

Hunton Andrews Kurth LLP attorneys Gil O. Acevedo and Andrej Micovic have been selected as honorees in the Daily Business Review’s annual Florida Legal Awards. Acevedo was recognized in the “Unsung Heroes” category and Micovic in the “On the Rise” category. The awards, which recognize distinguished members of South Florida’s legal community, will host a ceremony for the winners on Thursday, April 3, at the JW Marriot Marquis in Miami.

Acevedo brings more than 19 years of experience to Hunton’s Capital Finance and Real Estate Group and the firm’s Latin America practice. He represents investors, developers and lenders in commercial real estate transactions in the US and Latin America involving the financing, leasing, acquisition and disposition of retail, hotels, office buildings, multi-family apartment buildings, vacant land, mixed-use developments and luxury condominium and single-family residences. Acevedo’s recognition as an Unsung Hero highlights his active pro bono practice and contributions to the community.

A partner in the firm’s energy and infrastructure practice, Micovic focuses on complex public and privately-owned projects in the US and Latin America. With a strong background in transportation project finance, he has expanded his practice to include the representation of sponsors on university energy, renewable natural gas, passenger rail, airport, maritime port and social infrastructure projects. He has broad experience in both capital markets and bank finance, and regularly advises on projects with public financing support, including private activity bonds, TIFIA loans, and state and federal grants.
