American Law Institute Inducts Nash Long as Member
Hunton Andrews Kurth LLP is proud to announce that partner Nash E. Long has been elected as a new member of the American Law Institute (ALI). Long joins nine of his Hunton colleagues, already members of the organization, including deputy managing partner Robin Russell and partner and chief growth officer Wally Martinez.
The American Law Institute is the “leading independent organization in the United States producing scholarly work to clarify, modernize, and otherwise improve the law.” To qualify for membership in the American Law Institute, ALI members nominate eligible attorneys for their reputations of excellence and diversity in the legal profession.
“Our newest members are some of the most accomplished lawyers, judges, and academics in their fields, who I am sure will help shape not only the future of the ALI but also the legal landscape at large,” said ALI president David F. Levi. “Bringing in fresh perspectives and innovative ideas is vital to the Institute as we tackle the complexities of modern law. I am confident that their contributions will further our mission in meaningful and lasting ways.”
A partner in the firm’s Charlotte office, Long serves as lead counsel for clients in high-stakes litigation across the country, with extensive jury trial, bench trial and arbitration experience. Such matters have included contract disputes, intellectual property cases, environmental and toxic tort claims, class actions and putative class actions. Long is a frequent speaker at industry and bar conferences on topics including trial practice. A former chair of the American Bar Association’s Trial Practice Committee, he has published several items on litigation and trial skills.
