Overview

Jessie is a trial lawyer in the Litigation section of the Firm’s Houston office. She has a broad commercial litigation practice representing clients in state and federal courts and arbitration. Jessie has in-depth experience in all major stages of litigation, including drafting and arguing procedural and dispositive motions, drafting appellate briefs, taking and defending depositions, serving and responding to written discovery, representing clients in mediations and settlement negotiations, and preparing for and participating in trials. She also counsels employers on various matters including employment agreements and policies.

Her representative experience encompasses a broad range of industries, including the healthcare, energy, technology, drug testing, financial services, consumer products, and food industries.

Experience

  • Acting as trial counsel for an oilfield services company in a complex breach of purchase agreement and breach of fiduciary duty case involving multiple claims among the purchaser, seller, and former President.
  • Representing a fuel products trading company in an arbitration and a state court case involving claims for misappropriation of trade secrets, breach of contract, and breach of fiduciary duty against a former trader who allegedly engaged in fraudulent transactions.
  • Acting as trial counsel for dealerships in a breach of alleged purchase agreement and fraudulent inducement case brought by former COO.
  • Obtaining summary judgments and favorable rulings on appeal for a drug testing administrator in various breach of contract and defamation cases.
  • Acting as trial counsel for an oilfield services company in a complex wage and hour class and collective action involving federal law and multiple state law claims.
  • Acting as trial counsel for a technology company in a breach of contract and business disparagement case against a former employee.
  • Obtaining favorable rulings in various anti-SLAPP cases in trial and appellate courts.
  • Conducting internal investigations involving allegations against executives.
