Practice focuses on bankruptcy and creditors' rights, bankruptcy litigation, other commercial litigation in federal and state court, loan workouts, and reorganization and business planning.
Relevant Experience
- Represented debtors-in-possession and trustees in large chapter 7 and chapter 11 cases in Texas and Delaware. Orchestrated asset sales, negotiated contracts, and litigated various contested matters.
- Advised and represented private equity firms, financial institutions, and other investors in acquisitions of assets from entities in bankruptcy and in other bankruptcy-related transactions.
- Defended international consumer lenders in extensive litigation in federal and state courts, including class actions and government investigations.
- Represented numerous entities, including financial institutions, in state and federal cases ranging from collection actions to complex commercial disputes.
- Represented secured lenders, landlords, and other creditors in various chapter 11 cases and other bankruptcy proceedings, including actions to avoid large allegedly preferential and fraudulent transfers.
- Litigated appeals in federal and state courts.
